Mukhyamantri Shramik Ann Sahayta Yojana (MSASY) Chhattisgarh for labourers
The MSASY is one of the important schemes launched by the Chhattisgarh state govt. in the current year, which is beneficial for the labourers working in the state. This is a free lunch project by the state govt. which will provide food during lunch hours to all the registered labourers belonging to the state of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh is one of the states in the country with people earning their living through daily waging such a daily laboring, mining, farming, construction workers, industrial workers, etc. For these daily wage earning labourers, the state govt. started this MSASY scheme to provide them hygienic and nutritious food. This scheme will help in saving up the costs incurred by those labourers for their tiffin and lunch while working.
Who will be the beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Shramik Ann Sahayta Yojana
As the scheme name suggests, this scheme has been launched by the state govt. of Chhattisgarh to improve the living and working conditions of the labourers who works in the state. This scheme will benefit the working class of people earning their wage on daily or contract basis. The labourers might belong to any sector such as:
- Agricultural labourers
- Construction labourers
- Mining labourers
- Industry and factory labourers
- Textile labourers
They must be registered labourers and should belong to unorganized sectors. The govt. will provide free nutritious food to them for free during lunch hours under the MSASY.
Occasion of launch of the free lunch scheme
The MSASY scheme was launched on 12th Jan, 2017 in Gandhi Maidan of Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The occasion was the birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda which is also celebrated as National Youth day throughout the nation. The MSASY is dedicated to all the hard working youths and labourers of the state. The state was also celebrating Cher – Chera which is the harvest festival celebrated widely in the state of Chhattisgarh. The state govt. on this occasion presented this welcome scheme named MSASY, dedicated to all the unorganized labourers working in the state so that they will get proper food in lunch for free. On this day, the Hon’ble Labour Minister of the state, Shri B. Rajwade was present in the inaugural ceremony along with the state’s Agricultural Minister. While addressing the labourers and audience, the Labour Minister told that the Chhattisgarh Govt. is totally committed to serve for the benefit of its laborers as he was also laborer once and know their requirements. A total of around 1,000 daily labourers attended the inaugural ceremony and were distributed with tiffin boxes with food.
Governing authority of the Mukhyamantri Shramik Ann Sahayta Yojana
The MSASY scheme will be governed and implemented under the Dept. of Labour, Chhattisgarh. All the registration formalities and distribution of lunch boxes to the labourers of the state will be looked after by the same department. Every district and block will have separate offices for registration and distribution of the free lunch under the MSASY. As this is the first time, Chhattisgarh govt. is launching such project, so regular scheme implementation updates and ground level work status is to be examined by officials of the Labour Dept. to ensure that the workers who are the registered beneficiaries of the scheme will get timely nutritious food for their lunch at no cost, while they are working.
How to register for free lunch scheme in Chhattisgarh?
The Labour Dept. of Chhattisgarh opened up a registering booth for making registrations under the MSASY scheme on the inaugural day in Gandhi Maidan. However, this scheme can be joined by any labourer who is working either in any govt. project or in private construction and other sites. Registration to the MSASY schemed is mandatory to get the benefit of free lunch in Chhattisgarh. There is no online mode of registration under the scheme. Below are the steps of registration which are to be followed by those who have missed the registration process on 12th Jan, 2017:
- The eligible beneficiary must visit the office of the Labour Dept. located in the block or panchayat office and collect the application form for MSASY.
- The application form is to be filled up along with details of work done by the labourer.
- All necessary documents to be attached with the application form and submit.
- A registration card will be issued which will make the labourer eligible for the free lunch scheme.
Hygiene and Nutrition to be major aspects of the scheme
The Chhattisgarh govt. has clearly stated that there will be no compromise with the quality of food to be served to the beneficiaries of the MSASY scheme. The lunch will be cooked in the same day on which it will be served in the govt. kitchens and canteens. Proper hygiene will be maintained while preparation of the lunch. Maintaining the nutritional value of the lunch to be provided to the labourers will be the major priority of the concerned authority of the MSASY scheme. The lunch will be well packed in lunch boxes and will be provided to the labourers within the time frame of 9 – 12 am.
