One District One Product Yojana in Uttar Pradesh | Ek Jila Ek Utpadan Yojana in UP (एक जिला एक उत्पाद योजना)

Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of the state Uttar Pradesh has launched a new scheme for the unemployed youth of the state. The scheme namely One District One Product is an employment scheme for the youth. Under this scheme over 70 million youths in next 5 years will be able to get employed in Uttar Pradesh, as per CM Yogi.

Launch Details

The scheme was originally announced by the UP government in the month of August 2017. However the scheme would not launch officially at that time. According to the state government the scheme can be launched officially on 24^th Jan 2018.

Key Features

Objective: The scheme is linking employment to the agricultural sector in the state. UP is agricultural based state and there is a number of opportunities for the youth to explore in the agricultural sector. The objective of the scheme is to promote the agricultural sector and local industries as well as betterment of the youth population.
Background: The concept of One District One Product was originally started by the Japan government back in 1979. After that Thailand government started the same thing and has taken it forward. Now India has started the same concept after so many years.
Need for the scheme: The scheme is needed to reduce unemployment in the state. The biggest issue in India is the increasing rate of unemployment. The UP State government has stated that if in next 5 years 1 Cr unemployed people will arrive, 70 million will get employed after this scheme.
Financial Help: Under this scheme in next 5 years local craftsmen and small and medium entrepreneurs will get Rs. 25, 000 Cr of financial assistance from the state government.
Latest technology: The state government of UP has promised to bring new and latest technology for the small, micro and medium enterprises so that they can produce global market ready products in the state.

To apply for the scheme the candidates are required to apply online. However no information regarding online application has been out yet by the state government. One can visit the official site and apply for the scheme after registering officially with the portal.

Unemployment is the largest issue in India at this moment. The UP government, like other state governments has given attention to this big issue by bringing this scheme. According to Yogi, if within 5 years 70 million people get jobs or any means of stable income, then the GDP of the country will increase too. This will lead to high growth and development of the nation.

Lucknow President Ramnath Kovind along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has seen one of the largest shoes of Asia. It has been made by Sarwan Singh and Rahul Singh from Agra. The shoe is 40-foot high, and it was the center of attraction of a Lucknow summit that took place under forest district. The notable personalities visited Agrawal’s Big Book stall and came to know about the largest shoe. Further, director of Big Book Shu is of the opinion that Agra has been chosen to mark it as the center of world’s finest workmanship of shoes.
