Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana
The Government of Odisha has recently launched this Yojana to provide permanent shelter to the construction workers. This new scheme has been launched under the Pucca Ghar Yojana and already a fund of Rs. 1000 crore will be raised for the welfare of the workers and their families. 75% of the fund has been already collected by implementing cess on the constructions so far.

So what are the features and benefits of this Yojana?
Like all Yojanas, the Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana too has a lot of unique features and benefits. Such as:
- Each beneficiary will be granted Rs. 1 lakh for this project. The beneficiary will be consisting of one unit, in which there will be a husband, wife and a child.
- The children will have to be unmarried to be considered eligible for this scheme.
- In 2016 the budget for construction is Rs. 500 crore and 50,000 families will be provided shelter under this budget.
- Around 2.5 lakh beneficiaries who have already registered will be getting an assistance of Rs. 90 crores.
- The members who have registered or shall register will be liable to get a pension of Rs. 500 monthly – after they attain the age of 60 years.
- Even if the registered members move out of the state or the city, then also they will be liable to receive these benefits.
- The building materials which are required to build the shelters will be available in rebated prices under this scheme.
- Children will be given educational benefits and the construction workers themselves will be given skill development training.
That is not all – the state government has been trying to take these people under the medical and accidental insurance. Also, benefits will be provided to obtain tools for working and safety equipments, etc.

How to apply for this Yojana?
Those who are interested to avail the benefits of this scheme may visit the District Labour Officer to get the necessary sanctions and assistance. The good news is that the procedure for sanction is quite simple and a worker will find it quite easy to fill out the details for application.

Eligibility criteria for this Yojana
To be eligible for this Yojana, a construction worker shall have to be within the age range of 18 to 60 years. Out of the 12 lakh registered construction workers, as of now only 27,000 are eligible for this scheme.
